How did your flock annoy you today?

I got to laugh. 9 nest boxes and they do this when all are open and unoccupied at the moment. Also a picture of Yeti and some chicks to cheer myself up.

So today I’m wearing a pair of Duluth women’s overalls when a flower pattern. I go into the yard and everybody is following me. I think to myself that they’re after treats. Not in the way I think. I’m standing there talking to my Momma on the phone when. I feel the first peck. By the time I got out of the yard we were at least 3-4 pecks into them realizing that they couldn’t eat the flowers.

Also if you’re in the US and can get your hands on a pair of Duluth Heritage overalls, do it. My life has been changed.

I've been looking for some good overalls. I was leaning Carhartt from RK, but these might be the cutest things ever!!

No Duluth. So comfortable. Flattering. Useful. Hammer loop. 15 pockets I believe. Dirt just wipes off so easily.

I'll have to look at Duluth for sure. I was thinking Carhartt just because I've got a Carhartt coat that I love. The classic canvas kind. I can't remember if there is a Duluth store here, but I can always look online.

I have a short rake I use to direct the stragglers in with. Mostly so they don't make a break for the downed tree or the main yard.

I used to throw sticks in the directions I didn't want them to go. Definitely didn't help make me look not like the bad guy, though.

At first I didn't even notice her sitting on the neck of the other hen! And the look, oh the look she gives you!

I don't even know if the look was for taking a picture, being there at all, being there and laughing, or if she was mad about somebody under her that she hopped on top of. Pepper is the black 1, Kora is the white, and the squished brown 1 is Nova.

A chicken rake! I need one.

I sometimes used to have to wave a broom at them. Now I just show them the broom and they go the way I want them to. They're not scared of it, it's essentially just a visual aid.
