How did your flock annoy you today?

My chickens have somehow figured out how to pick plums from the tree over their yard. I know that the plums aren't falling by themselves as they're not even ripe yet. :rant

Somehow, they get MORE active the hotter it is. Lazy as teenagers when it's below 75 degrees, but over 90? Screaming, running, fighting over the one-inch strip of sun that made it through the shade cloth. More screaming. It's like clockwork.

Well, it got so hot that I brought them down to their basement apartment (now with 3 bedrooms). Not a peep from them now. Everyone's settled in for a nap/preen/bite to eat. Feel like I'm being played...

There is one chicken which can fly really high and manages to escape all the time. No other chickens are able too (the fence is 2m high (6.5 feet) so she's got to be admired too. Is there a Guinness Book of Records for highest flying chicken?

This morning she was out wandering in the flower and fruit garden again and when we caught her she was literally screaming her lungs out, so the entire flock and rooster were causing a racket too.

We have now clipped one of her wings and hopefully she won't get out again. But maybe she has superpowers and we'll see her eating the blueberries again this afternoon.

My chickens love the RentACoop treat dispenser. I'll fill it with pellets, and they'll spend the day pecking the tubes to dispense a "reward".

I refilled this morning, then watched my d'Uccle systematically empty each tube, leave the pellets on the ground in a pile, then walk away...

Thanks, Poppy.
The 2 Mom Brooder Hens leaving they're babies :(
