Oh yeah, my girls were eye peckers when they were young. Ouch.My sweet cochin has recently discovered that it likes to climb on my shoulder. It's now very adept at flying to my shoulder when I reach into the brooder. While I was wiping poop from the top of the brooder plate for the 2nd time already before 9am, it settled in its spot. When I turned to look at my sweet little bundle of joy, it pecked me right in the eye...![]()
Ouch for sure! It's not watering anymore, but it's so red and sore, lol. It's just so cute and sweet though, so I forgive it.Oh yeah, my girls were eye peckers when they were young. Ouch.

It doesn't help that they have those deceptively long snake necks.Oh yeah, my girls were eye peckers when they were young. Ouch.
Yeah really! It doesn't help that they have those deceptively long snake necks.
The worst thing is even glasses aren't a sure thing. Little brats would just get under them! I should have worn safety gogglesYeah really! It was coming at my eye before I could even think about reacting.
This is cracking me up because I do have glasses that I'm so horrible about actually wearing. My husband is forever telling me to wear them, and I was thinking maybe I should've been! But maybe it wouldn't have helped against the tiny raptor, lol.The worst thing is even glasses aren't a sure thing. Little brats would just get under them! I should have worn safety goggles![]()
