Exactly.I think it would take quite a bit. Not something I'm willing to test, though!

Mine proved yesterday that they are still terrified of butterflies. My husband collected a bunch of crickets from around the property and put them in a bucket for the bantams. I then dumped the bucket of crickets into their sand box (to make it easier for them to hunt). Maybe 2 out of 12 were actually eaten. Clover was more interested in a piece of mulch, Poppy was afraid of the crickets, and Hornet must have had her fill. Actually, scratch that. Poppy became interested in one cricket, but it slightly buried itself in the sand, and she had no idea what to do.
I refuse to feel bad about not free ranging these chickens because they would stink at it.
Chickens are definitely the stabbiest pets!I have a little stool I bring into the run with me and sit and hang with the girls. Usually one or two fly onto my lap and hang out with me. But nope not today, 5 of them decided to use me as a perch at the same time. 3 on my shoulder and back and one on each arm. After getting my ears and neck pecked the 2 on my arm decided to slide off instead of jump off and have scratches all up both arms lol
