I went to let them out and left the gate open behind me. These heifers made a break straight for the gate. Now I’m running back yelling no trying to intercept them. I won.

My flock is annoying me by being 1,797 miles away enjoying real Fall in Vermont while I roast in Texas.

My boy did that yesterday! Made a mad dash for the run door when I walked out to refill the feed. I'm like, dude, you literally weigh about 13 ounces, and the cat is out here! He's an 8 week old bantam, so he's got no size to him. Chickens.

Not really an annoying moment, but my roo would not get out of the rain.
It was pouring!
His hens had all taken shelter, and there he was in the yard soaked.
I guess he takes his guarding seriously.

Candled Face's eggs. 1 dud 6 left. Yeti keeps burying the chick water dish in shavings and dirt, and while locking up I noticed 3 of Shirley's chicks are without a doubt cockerals. 2 look to be hens and 1 is an EE that could go either way. It has been unusually wet here this year and mushrooms keep popping up everywhere. Tonight the Husband noticed what he thought was an egg in the middle of the field and went to grab it only to realize it was a mushroom so he had to drag me out to show me the mushroom egg.

Bo (Our 1 year ol Rooster) chasing Rocky (our 4 month ol rooster)! Poor Guy can only be near his 2 hens (Barely, Bo chases him or that too sometimes!) an he's just mining his own business. Rocky is a Sweety Pie though
