I love Dragons of Pern !!! wish I could find again kids got a hold of my books and they're all gone now lol ! no one ever knows what I'm talking about when I talk about Anne McCaffey
I might be able to help with that.
Anne McCaffrey passed away just this past November at 85. Her first two Pern short stories made her the first woman ever to win Science Fiction writing's Hugo and Nebula awards forever shattering the "glass ceiling" holding back female writers in what was a male dominated genre at that time. She literally changed the world, and the one I lived in forever.
I have had a life of dragons and for that I thank her with all my heart.
I have emailed you some links to her works. Pass Pern on to the next generation, get the kids copies of their own.
"Ci Cyfarth" means "barking dog" in Welsh. "Barking dog" is the English translation for "Canis latrans," the taxonomic name for the coyote. It's nice, because I like dogs, I like coyotes, and I'm barking mad.
Mash noon for both chicken feed and sunny days and "mashnoon" mimicks the arabic word for crazy- majnoon. So it's kinda "crazy lady" which is what my coworkers think I am since I've gotten chickens.

I also love Anne McCaffrey and introduced my 10 yr old daughter to her books this year. My daughter absolutely loves anything to do with dragons so the books were perfect for her. She draws dragons and hunts for dragons in our woods and hillsides.
My name came from my past profession as a pet sitter. When clients would say, "Gee, my dog really likes you!" I'd just tell them, "When you look at me, you see a chunky middle-aged lady. When your dog looks at me, he sees The Kibble Goddess (a.k.a. The One With Thumbs Who Opens The Food Container). The Kibble Goddess is so much shorter
adg- my initials countrygirl- I was born in the metroplex, but I never fit in. I told my dad when I was in Kindergarden that when I grew up, I was going to move to the country and live on a big farm. We moved out to the country when I was 13 and I told my cousin, "I'm a country girl now." She said, "Honey, you've always been a country girl, it's just that now you live in the country." Which was exactly how I always felt, so now that's what I tell my husband when he teases me.
