Just bid him up... I'm sure he'll bid over me, but he'll pay for it anyways..

When I get into an eBay auction, I start out with my FIRST maximum bid close to the amount it's currently sitting at. If i am immediately outbid, i will then bid my next to the highest amount I will pay for the item. If I am immediately outbid again, I go away. Unless I really want it, then I bid my REAL maximum. If I'm outbid again, immediately, I go away for sure. Somebody's max bid is obviously more than I want to pay.

Yeah..i wont bid more than i am willing to lose...
I put it at $60 now.. but the bid is showing $51.00...
So we'll see if he steps in again.. if not i'm willing to pay $60 for the item..
Sometimes the sellers bid up their own stuff too.... skanks..

I haven't read all the replies, so maybe someone else suggested it already.... My secret is Gixen.com. It's great free sniper tool. I paid for the upgrade though. I love it. If only it worked on BYC. Instead I have to be my own sniper here.

UGH! Bidding is such a pain!

When I was bidding on fish on Aquabid and a couple things on Ebay ... I do the last minute thing. I noticed after watching auctions, that the second something is bid on, it shoots right up the top of the page depending on how you have the search results filtered. So people see someone wants something and they say "Oh I must want that too!". But often really good stuff thats never bid on, never gets noticed at all, and the auction can end with no bidders.

So ... When I really want something... I swoop in

Just guess... if the bid is at $51 that probably means their high bid is $55 or $60. Most people will go in denomiations of 5's and 10's.

So if he outbids you this time... look for the same product again. But this time, just sit on your heels and watch it. He probably wont notice it without you there to pick it out for him

Then when you have... well how long does it take you to submit a bid.. for me, probably a couple minutes, LOL... so with 3 minutes left on the clock, go quick! Bid! Make sure you set it above the reserve price!

Then BASK in the glory of Winning! ER HAHAhahahahahaha!
