How do i adjust humidity in LG incub.?

I have the 3 little water holding areas filled in incubator filled and temp is around 101F but humidity is only at 34%. Eggs are going in tomorrow and i believe humidity is supposed to be around 55%. How do i get the humidity up?

soaking wet sopping wet terry cloth ( warm water of course!) Try to place it where you can dribble water onto it if necessary.

Will the water leak out of incubator bottom? I am assuming it get laid across bottom, under screen?

There are holes underneath the metal screen. Fill the two outside trays with lukewarm water. That's all!

I pit paper towels in mine to increase evaporation by increasing the surface area of the water.

If using an LG praying is really the only way to get these to work anything close to a real incubator. I wish you luck, you'll need it, but then again if you own an LG you already know that. still hoping your hatch hangs in there.

I find humidity is much easily controlled when you use a little container to hold the water. The incubator will stay at a consistent level of RH for a longer time. At lockdown, I simply add another smaller container.
Try to keep the humidity under 55% at lockdown. Risk of drowning chicks will decrease.

LG is all i use..i run several ..with very good results...my humidity reads 16-18 percent .. i had read advice others had offered on hatching & i did raise humidity...which turned out to be awaste of time & eggs/chicks..none hatched far as i could tell they died off last 3 days when i raised my humidity.. all i use is a jar of warm/hottish water i do keep a sponge in it cuz certain chicks end up trying to climb into it !!! for last 3 days i add water into trays also & a wet sponge..this raises humidity up to 35 percent for few hours ..and slowly lowers & hoovers at 25 percent for about 24 hrs..then will go back down to 18 percent.....normally i have 38 live chicks out of 40 eggs... the last 3 hatches had 100 percent...good luck.

I have LG incubator in use at the moment.... hatching as we "speak".

I kept the humidity at 50-60% during days 1-18 by filling the channels of water and adding two wet sponges (on top of the metal grate)

I raised the humidity to 75-80% by placing a small saucer of water in right before lock down.
I have 4 chicks that have hatched and have clean shells/no problems. 18 others that have pipped.... so that's 22 out of 35 total eggs (this is the end of day 20).

I just now replaced the saucer of water with an additional two sponges (soaking wet) because I was afraid the chicks would get into the saucer of water and drown. I very quickly exchanged the saucer for those two extra sponges and the humidity that was at 79% humidity, went down to it's lowest at 74%. The temp went down to 98 degrees from 100.

Still looking good. I guess we'll know how successful an LG hatch can be. This is my first time.
