I'm using heat tape instead of a light bulb but the guy at the store said hooking a thermostat to it should work the same way as a lightbulb. My question is does anyone have a a pretty clear guide for the electricianally challanged as to how to attach the thermostat? I bought one of those simple $9 from home depot that everyone else uses.

Dragon, you need to cut the hot wire and put the end coming from the plug under the screw closest to the heat adjustment knob. The other end goes under the other screw. This allows the t-stat to act like a switch cutting the power to the bulb when it gets too hot. The other wire (neutral) just stays as it it.
