How do I catch a Peacock?

The owner of the farm that I rent has a Peacock on the property that just free ranges around the farm. We don't feed or interact with him very much. Well the lot next door to the farm was sold and they built a house on it. The Peacock keeps going over there to eat the freshly sewn grass seed (I don't blame him). We want to catch the Peacock and pen him in the corn crib but don't know how to do it. Any suggestions? Thanks for your time!

You'll have to lure him into a building or another pen that he can't get out of and net him with a large landing net. Don't bother with chasing him around they're way to quick.

Lure them to a place you want them to be. Peafowl usually love meal worms. One thing I wouldn't do is chase the bird. They can run faster and if you do corner them they can fly or attack and their claws and spurs are very sharp and hurt when it goes into your skin. The only other thing that I can think of if you can't lure him in is possibly get Fish & Game, or Animal Control to sedate them. I've seen people that had peafowl get out before and they called one of the two to use a dart gun to sedate the bird.

Are the neighbors complaining about him eating the seed? You probably have more to worry about than catching him now.

Once you let him out he will hang around over there, and if the grass is sprouted he will eat that too. Perhaps the new neighbors just need to get used to having a pea around their property.
