how do i convince my parents to let me get a duckling?

ok so, I am trying to convince my parents to let me get a duck. They're very stubborn and are saying no but I really really want a duck. I am a teenager and they do not think I am responsible enough for a duck, though if I got one I would be so happy and very responsible, but they just don't believe me.
how should I convince them? I need something really good because there very stubborn!
please help me fulfill my dream life with a duck!!!

get that cool uncle to give you a few muscovys then they will multiply like crazy and even whennyour parents get rid of them they cant do it to the original pair so you then have an infinite supply of ducks. (also muscovys are less noisy and more durable they also live longer)

depending on the type of uncle and parents this is a fairly relieable method. my uncle had hundreds of ducks and gave some to any family member who had the space. my parents still have ducks as does my other uncle who was white elephanted.

Is it specifically a duck you want? Have you considered anything else? Perhaps a pair of quails would be a better place to start. It would make your parents slowly come to realization that poultry do in fact make great pets. Tell them they're rats with wings.

yes, I definitely will get 2 ducklings if they let me get a duck in the first place, my brother(who is older) wants one as well so it could definitely work out if my parents agree.

Christmas present and me and my mom have both wanted chickens for a long time and we have ‘‘em and just got our second batch you just gotta show them how you can be responsible. funny story my chickens are emotional support chickens and once my new chicks grow up they will be registered too. Just show them you can be responsible if you already have a pet and do you have a coop, run etc aleredy?

well I just had a doctor's appointment and on the way there I was like "dad, what do you think about ducks?" and he said very bluntly "no" He's very stubborn. So I'll have to work with my mom on this one! I will make sure to show her those pictures!

Is anyone persuasive willing to write me a letter as to why my mom should let me get ducklings. I'm not very good at it or else i'd write it myself. I just really wanna get a duck and name one waddels and the other james pond or jackie chan (if its a guy) if its not a guy then probs just puebe (pwebay)

That is something you have to do yourself. Read on BYC and find out all you can. List pros and cons. My parents have taken chickens very easily but they do not mess with them. I take full responsibility. Before you do anything show them you are responsible. Take care of your existing pets everyday. Do dishes at night even if they dont ask you to. Then explain why ducks are good. If you really want them you will get a job and pay for them yourself. I help with feed. Taking care of outside animals in winter is not fun but you still have to do it. Then, tell them your plan. Let them know you have truly thought about it. Finally show them cute duck pics!
