HOW DOES SHE LIKE A PARAKEET MORE THAN A QUAIL??? Parakeets are pretty common (commoner than quails) your mother isn't making sense to me.Well, my mom is interested in parakeets but it's extremely rare that my quail will bond with the bird. The local birds that can be bought from the Souq (market) are kept in extremely traumatizing situations like 50 birds in a 12 inch by 20 inch cage. I've seen like a 100 parrotlets sitting on a wooden dowel in a 20 inch by 20 inch cage, staying still hoping they survive. Conditions are terrible. They are taken from the wild and riddled with sickness. If I get one, parrots are hard-billed and the hull the seeds before eating them, also giving them an advantage of being able to bite extremely hard when threatened. My quail is a soft-billed bird, she only bites hard onto sweet corn, her favourite treat.
