Hi everyone, I was communicating with some of you about what to get for treating lice and mites. Well I bought several different things but want to try the dust first. It is made by Prozap it is Permethrin Garden & Poultry Dust. I have quite a few and I would like to know the safest and easiest way to treat them. Your advice as always will be much appreciated.

Thanks!

I usually powder them around the vent, under their wings and back of neck feathers. Be careful not to get it in their eyes or ears.

Take an empty feed bag, cut off half the bag so that it's shorter. Put one bird in, sprinkle the dust under wings and around vent. Take the bird out, put new one in. When you're all done you can reuse the powder in the bottom of the bag.

Some people put the powder in a garbage bag. Insert chicken up to the neck. Hold the bag around the neck, and shake the powder around the chicken.

Fill the toe of a nylon. Use like a powder puff, paying attention to the vent area and under the wings.

What?? Im new to the chicken thing too and I have never thought of Dusting them. I am so tired of me getting the bites around my ankles and back. Do you get the dust stuff from the feed store??

( I have been walking around with a flee color around an ankle for 3 days now)

Thanks everyone, one of these methods should work!
Carriec, I do know how you feel about getting bit, I didn't go as far as wearing a flea collar but realized I must have some kind of lice or mite problem. There is alot of good info here on this topic. Type in search, lice and mites and you should get tons of info.
I ordered mine online, although you may be able to find something near you.
