Hi, I was told that new born birds need their parent to be fed. I heard that they cannot eat on their own in the beginning. Is this true? and if so how do you feed them?

Depends upon the type of bird. It's very tricky and I did a lot of time learning how to do wildlife rescue before attempting any birds.

I suggest finding a rescue/rehab group to teach you.

well i was thinking of hatching alot of birds, but if they each need to be hand fed.... it wont work out well. Are there some type of birds that can eat on their own like new born chickens?

If your gonna do quail, just grind up their food real fine. That helps alot! Really baby birds that need non to feed them are like parrots, wild birds etc.
Chickens, quail, chukar and more they feed them selves.
