I picked up a Serama cockerel from someone nearby on Tuesday(Feb 18th) and all was going well the first night until the next morning when I found him shivering and puffed up while standing on one leg.
My first thought was he had an issue so I gave him Nutri-Drench to help perk him up.
He's between 4-6 months of age so he's feathered out.
The coop he's in, is one I've always used for new birds to keep them separated from the main flock so there aren't any issues with keeping the birds warm. I've never had an issue until now.
For the next few days, this is how I've been finding him in the morning. He's completely back to normal whenever he's in the house long enough to warm up.
I remembered today that I had seen a few heat lamps around the area the person kept their birds in. I'm pretty sure their birds are just constantly on a heat lamp all the time.
He eats and drinks normally when inside my house once he's warmed up.
I'm unable to keep him inside the house due to not having a brooder inside.
Is there a way to fix this so I don't end up losing him?
