Take it easy on me I am a noob. I got my quail about 3 weeks ago they are about 8 weeks old. I wanted to know when they would be able to breed. And hoW I would know they were getting ready to lay. I have one male and one female.

Put on some Barry White, dim the lights...

I'm not sure about age, but I hear providing cover helps encourage them.

Buttons usually start laying between 6 and 12 weeks old. Since you just got them and they are on the 'low' end of the time spectrum, I would give them at least another month before you start to worry. Just make sure they have a good diet of crumble feed, finch seed, and calcium (like oyster shells) and they will start as soon as they are ready

You can use cuttle bone if you prefer, oyster shells can be kind of big. Cuttle bone is the same thing, they just peck off what they need.

I just place a chunk in a ziplock bag and roll the rolling pin over it and it makes cuttle bone dust. Mine were a bit too lazy to peck off chunks themselves.

Nothing laying here either, but they are a bit young.
