How do i get my chicken to become broody

I WANT THEM SO BAD... but im not sure if i can get another full grown chicken atm so im gonna try to make a home made brooder

Get the silkie. They are about the best broody hen available.

im gonna post a pic of my nesting box tommorow so everyone come check this.... because i only have one so all the chickens use it so should i make another so it can have its own private one?

I have RIR's as well, and though they're not even laying yet, I've read that RIR's rarely go broody. I guess that's what makes them such good layers. But when they do they're excellent moms.

RIR's are not usually one to go broody, though it does happen.

The second site tells which breeds go broody the most and how to manage a broody.

You must follow these instructions carefully.
Go outside and face the east.
Stand on your head.
While on your head, repeat the phrase "chicken broody' real fast thirty (30) times.
Do this every day for two weeks and your hens will go broody.






On second thought, don't try this at home. It won't help. A hen will go broody when/IF she gets darn good and ready to and not a second before. Speaking from experience here.

Get one of those evil silkies instead.
