i just got chicks home last night and i was going to give them a little bit to get used to their new home theyre about 5 days old but 2 of them had pasty butt and i had to get it off asap, i did and they are fine now but im afraid that i scard them and now theyre scared of me. i dont want chickens that are timid or aggressive with people (especially me) id love them to come running over when i come. plus i have neighbors from 1st to 4th grade and i know they will be coming over to see them eventually and when they grow up and id love it if they could pet or even hold them one day. I have four chicks just over a week old now. I handle them daily. Their brooder box is in our living room. We take them out around twice a day to play with us. It seems they like playing ball like the dogs do!!
I also have two kids ages 5 and 3.5 so they get handled by the kids as well. Ours so far are not timid with us and love coming out to play!
