my muscovy duck was laying eggs under my house and i didn't know, the day she started sitting on them i took all 15 of them off her but after that she kept trying to sit on her nest with nothing in it, there was one cold egg a few metres away from her that was sitting there for a couple of weeks and she has moved it underneath herself and has been sitting on it for 10 days, i candled the egg yesterday and couldn't see any fetus or signs of life at all, i'm wondering how i can get her off the nest? and will she start laying again soon? because next time i'm going to let her sit on the eggs it almost spring now so the weather wont be so cold if i let her hatch some soon

Here it has to run it's course, I have 3 that have been brooding over 40 days now on nothing. You can get her off and somehow close off the under side of your house so she can't get under there making sure to tear up the nest and take any eggs that are left. That's about all you can do.

You will need to probly break up that nest under your house, and encourage her to nest elsewhere, as in, where you actually want her to nest. I have had ducks return to laying in 2-3 wks.

alright thanks for the advice i will take the egg and try to block their way of getting under the house with chicken wire i might try to keep her in the coop with the nesting boxes for a few days so she knows where she is supposed to sleep and lay her eggs

She will; probably start back laying in a couple of weeks, make her a nice private place inside the coop. Easy done with scrap ply wood. so she can lay her egg there. one wall I did this in my goose house just used a piece of plywood to make a half wall so my goose would have privacy while she lays her egg and broods. I'll post pics tomorrow if your interested.

awesome i will try to make something like that for her then thankyou
If I can I know you can.
