My sweet little white Bantam, Lilly just hatched out 6 of my big chicken eggs this past Labor Day, which was also my Birthday. She's an excellent mother to her adopted little family, and we can't wait to see how many hens we can add to our big chicken coop. I'm needing four more hens to make a dozen. I have another white bantam hen that is Lilly's daughter from a previous setting in which she hatched out 9 of her own eggs, but Pearl hasn't showed any interest in setting just yet.
Only way i get my hens to go broody is i let them lay there one egg a day in there nest and once she has about 8 to 10 eggs she will go broody for me and it works for me pretty much everytime
