And, also, is it OK for quails to eat a bit of hardened, dry, 2-year-old frosting from an old gingerbread house? One of my quails got out of its cage, and it snuck out and started eating the frosting...I think he was eating for about 5 seconds before I caught him. But, still, is it OK for them to eat a bit of frosting?![]()
Well, a good keeper would've fixed him a pot of coffee to go with...
As a treat sure.
Probably. I've seen them eat plastic on several occasions with no ill effects.
Well, I think the quail really likes to eat the dried frosting...
Ok, so... my male quails keep on crowing, like, 70 times (literally) at 6 AM, and they do that every day. Anyone have any idea on how to make them shut up?:/![]()
Of course they are, that was established on the first page. When you are keeping a lot of quail the extra males get loud. This thread is discussing ways to make them be quieter or at least not drive your neighbors up the wall.Maybe they're calling for some female attention.

I'm sure I prefer frosting to plastic...I mean plastic does not taste too bad, but man its so hard to chew....
I just caught one of my quails eating the dried frosting... again.
