I think you could take some in for incubating too, as part of your project. It's great to see a duck sit and hatch her eggs, but there is also some great excitement to see them popping out from the incubator you used.

Since you say "breeding" but you just mean letting the ducks do their thing, as opposed to getting involved in choosing male and females to be the parents and then doing the same with second and third generations, then just watch out for this kind of thing about them laying eggs and beginning to get broody.
