How do I get the girls to eat the powdery part of crumbles?

I tried mashing the powder with banana (which they have eaten in the past...) and water. They werenʻt impressed. Egads. I was all excited and thought I could sieve the crumbles and make them mash. But I guess I need to try something different. What should I tempt them with next?

If you really want to get creative, I've made banana muffins for them but take out the sugar and salt from the recipe. And replace the regular flour with the dust from their crumbles. I added in grated zucchini and apple sauce. You can freeze them and then chuck one out into their run and let them peck away at it.

Just add water to it to make a paste, people has been doing it like that for years when they feed mash.

I wet mine down with water. They love wet feed.

All the posts were very good. I hated the waste also, so I switched to pellets. Much less waste that way. I have heard that some chickens won't eat pellets, but mine never gave me a problem.
