How do I harvest mealworms?

People offer different sizes of mealworm like 1/4 in, 1/2 in, and 1 in. I was wondering which size is best?
The difference will just be the time it takes for them to grow into adults and breed. 1/4" mealworms will take ~2 months to become adults, while the larger mealworms will take less time. Which size you get will only matter for the first generation since they are all the same kind of mealworm, just a different ages. Does that make sense?

Yes that does make sense! Thank you for explaining it to me. I think I will get the bigger sizes so they grow faster!

You probably only need a few hundred mealworms to start a colony. Keep in mind that each adult female can lay hundreds of eggs, so the mealworm population can get very large very quickly. Having extra never hurts, especially if you just plan on feeding the excess to your chickens.
How about 1,000? Just to be safe!;) lol!

When I click the link it doesn't work! Does it work for you?
