Hello, so I have bought 12 cotunix and 12 Chinese quail hatching eggs offline but I have know clue what to house them in and I don’t mind making something anyone got any ideas are area where they are going is currently 6’ by 4’ concrete slabs and our budget is about £80

You need a brooder until they are off heat. Then i plan to put mine in this, and more similar structures. I ordered 45+ eggs.

It is OK. But does need regular cleaning. The type that @CapricornFarm has is low maintenance as they poop through the mesh. The one thing you must think about is predator proofing. I only get magpies trying to get at mine. But rats can be a real menace. If you have raccoons and such you will need to make it very sturdy with a decent latch and hardware cloth. Overprotection is always the best policy.

ok yes I like that idea a lot but we do have quite a few predators thankyou for responding

Ah okay so I was thinking of having them in a rabbit run on wood chip would I have to clean this out regularly
You don't have to clean it because the poop falls out through the wire. The dust bath area might need to be changed occasionally.
