We have 3 chickens that are about 7 months old..they have been together basically since birth and with us for 3 months. We just bought a much larger coop and run today, and while we were there we got 2 new pullets that are 3 months old. The guy we bought everything from said we could put the younger ones in with the older girls, and after awhile they would be fine. But I am really worried that the little ones are going to be picked on a lot....is there anything that I can do to ease the transition?
Right now my older girls are sleeping in the new big coop, and the babies are in the little coop, but I would like to get them together as soon as possible. Thanks!

The best thing we do is introduce the newbies into the coop after dark. Then the chickens wake up and go oh new chickens.
We have used this process many times and it works well. Just remember the next few days they'll be working out the pecking order so they'll be losing feathers and fighting (P.S. that's nomal if you didn't know).
