How do I keep chickens off the top of nest box?

If you build the top of the nesting box in 45 degree angel they will have a very hard time going on top of it and they will never roost there, I seen my chicken trying to go up there but they couldn't succeed.

lucky for me he is an electrician and has all kinds of tools. I'll admit they are a lot of fun.
 
You could also use chicken wire (or any type you have handy) instead of wood. Tack it to the front of the nests, and angle it up to the wall.
I always seem to have scraps of fence wire around that arent big enough for fences
