*giggles* The BEST I could make out of it, was that she was talking to herself, except outloud via the keyboard on BYC.

Got a little Smeagol/Gollum action going on there. *laughs*

Um, it sounds to me like you need a fence AND some professional training sessions, too. In our classes one of the routine excersizes is to prepare/condition a dog for future collar grabbing, so at first it is a game with a rewarded treat... you grab the colllar and give a treat. lather, rinse, repeat..... this is a preventative measure, but it's best to do this when the dog a pup and is learning and being "shaped" or conditioned, but it's still not impossible to do with an older dog... some older dogs need to be totally retrained with a more scientific/less emotional and coercive method.

Wire fencing with properly spaced posts might be the least expensive and she should learn to respect it. Electric fencing is good too but you must keep the bottom free of grass and weeds to keep it working. If you still consider breeding her she will be way too young at 14 months--still a growing baby herself! Check with your veterinarian for more info and possible problems that creep up with pregnancy and faults in Pyrs. She--like any giant breed--take a much longer time to mature and should be 2 1/2--3 years at least before you do.

Sorry for that dumb bit.

Okay I'm starting to save my money and I'm going to go look at the local Co-op for a electric fence.

Well, I'm having so many puter problems, I couldn't go thru all 6 pages of this post so if I'm repetitive, I apologize.

Electric fence is WONDERFUL for lots of things. Go to a Tractor Supply or a large, well stocked ranch and farm store. There are push-in or step-on plastic electric fence posts for a little over $2 each. If keeping the dog in is your only issue, a salesman there can probably direct you to some reasonably priced wire. Your biggest investment will be the charger. I'd get a plug-in rather than a solar-powered or one depending on a battery if you can access a place to plug it in. I just think they last longer and generally have a little more bang (literally) for the buck.

You need to put several layers of wire up so the dog can't step over or jump over. It is the cheapest fencing I know of. You must maintain it. There are little cheap fence charge checkers for around $9 or more, worth the price, to check the fence, vs grabbing the fence to check for charge. Check it every few days, keep grass out of the bottom wire, and you'll probably keep your baby safe.

Many of our neighbors have pyrs or pyr crosses. It just seems to be the nature of the beast to suffer from a bad case of "WANDERlust."

About the wire, get some kind of solid wire. Those woven nylon plus tiny electric wires damage so easily, you'll forever be making repairs or pieces of woven wire.

A physical fence alone won't keep a pyr in because they are diggers. I use an electric wireless containment fence (with the collar). It works great. Once they know the boundaries, they stay and guard just fine. We have several pyrs with collars for each one.
