How do I keep the chicken's off my deck?!

We used rabbit fencing to fence off 1/2 of the yard. It was the only way.

OMG tell me about it. We brooded our adults in the kitchen and the tweens in the living room. The adults won't cross where the floor changes from the kitchen to the LR but the tweens are fearless and charge right through the entire house. We have to hunt for them when they venture into the house!!

I swear my old hen takes the "teenagers" on tours . . . across the porch, through the shop, through my office, in the house whenever possible. She stands there directing, and telling them just ignore the humans, they squack a bit but they don't actually DO anything . . .

I have a covered deck and I'm wondering has anybody ever tried a ceiling fan? with the movement would it frighten them away and keep them away with it on lowest speed.

Welcome to BYC @CharlieNChicks !

Doubt the ceiling fan would scare them for long....but you can hope.
They might actually seek out the shade and fan breeze of a hot summer day.
