How do I keep them around?

April 11 I bought a pair of tame Rock pigeons. I have them in a really nice set up, but would love to let them out to fly around during the day.

Can this be done? How do I encourage them to stay and even go back to their pen at dark? I had a pair of pigeons once before, but they were inside birds. I decided this time I wanted to let them be a natural as possible.


Any and all advice or ideas are welcome.

I assume they were full grown when you got them. If so, I'm going to say they'll take off on you if you let them out. If pigeons are raised from babies in a coop they will return to that coop because it is their home. I don't know how well rock pigeons home, but chances are if you let them out then they will head for their old coop.
