Hi everyone! One of my hens is sleeping a lot, staying separate from the other ones and a bit listless. Otherwise, her feathers are beautiful, her cob bright red. Clear eyes and she is eating at times. When I touch her head and cob it feels warm to the touch. So I don’t know if that is normal or maybe she is running a fever? I also touched her feet and they seem cold or normal to the touch. So how do I know if my hen has a fever? Aside from sticking a thermometer you know where!

About three weeks ago my whole flock was diagnosed coccidiosis, they’ve been taking the medication for that and been off it for the last week. Could she be having a reaction tho the mes? Weakening her immune system could it be causing other problem to arise?

Any info is welcomed. Thank you.

What medication and dosage did you treat for Coccidiosis?

Can you get some photos of her and her poop?
How old is she?
Does she lay eggs? When was her last egg?

I would check her crop first thing in the morning before she eats/drinks, look her over for lice/mites.
I would get her hydrated, then see if she will eat a little.

Combs and feet both can "feel" warm or cool - you wouldn't be able to tell anything about the chicken's temperature that way.
When we get a bit more info and photos we may be able to offer more suggestions.
