Is there a section of the forum for bragging about chicks? LOL

If it hatches, I am so going to want to brag! My first ever egg that I incubated myself...

"tap tap"

I wonder where that sound is coming from, that little tapping sound?

I wonder where it could be. It sounds like its coming from that roundish oval shaped egg thing thats inside the Covatutto 7! Could it be?

Eggy is in the very early stages of hatching. It has cracks in the side, and I can hear baby cheeping and tapping inside.

I'm ecstatic!

MY BABY!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

It hatched tonight at 1:07 in the morning! I just came back from celebrating my brothers birthday, and I walked into the room to get changed, and I looked at the egg, and it had a giant crack in it, and as I watched, it split in two and BABY!

SO beautiful!

How cute!!! just make sure you keep it in the bator until it's completely dry. Then you make a little brooder for it out of a box and keep it in your room for awhile. How exciting...I love babies!!!!

Thank-you!!!!!!!

Yes, I'm keeping it in the bator until its ready to be out and about, and I'm already working on the brooder box.

The thing I'm worrying about though, is..... the baby is all alone, as it was a lone egg. One and only...
Will the baby be okay to be on its own in the brooder, or should I find it a mate somewhere to cuddle with it and be friends with it?

Whenever I've had babies, there have always been more than one at a time... always at the minimum, a pair... or the baby has been with its mother, not in a brooder.
So I'm not sure.

If it needs a companion, I'll try my most desperate to find one tomorrow from the pet store or something!
