My incubator FINALLY arrived this morning...
I spent a few hours setting it up and working on keeping it at a stabilised temperature, which I managed to do okay.
Because I was hoping beyond hope that I didn't fry my egg the other day, I've been (once a day) candling it in the hopes of seeing if anything is going on inside, or if I killed the egg...
My findings?
On the day I thought I killed the egg, I had candled it that morning, and I could see the air sac, I could see the little dark lump that meant baby, I could see it moving all around...
1 day after I thought I fried my little eggy, I candled it, and the contents of the egg were still visible, I could still see the veins, the little dark blob that meant baby, but personally couldn't see much movement, but I was trying to be very careful with the egg after that first bout of overheating.
In recent days, the interior of the egg appears to have gotten denser and denser and darker and darker. When I candle it, I can see only the air sac inside, and thats about it. The inside of the egg is otherwise full of... maybe baby? The egg also feels heavier somehow... Like it weighs more than it did before....? Is that even possible???
Maybe I didn't fry it? Maybe baby is still alive?
I don't know for certain, but my incubator is sitting on the desk next to my computer, with a lone egg inside, waiting...
And I'm watching...
Hoping. Praying.
Fingers crossed for me please everyone!
