How do i play with my baby chickens?

I have 2 baby chickens, one is 5 weeks old and the other is unknown but seems like 3 weeks old.

my chicks seem bored, im trying to play with them but they kinda get scared of me.

Mine like little baby toys with strings, ladders, and toys with blocks on string. Mealworms are good. And they like to fly out of the brooder

I built mine a small roost when they were about a week, maybe a little less. Now they are in their coop, 4 weeks, and they love it when I go out and use ME as a jungle gym...I usually have 3-4 birds on me at any given time, while doing chores, or just socializing with them...one likes to sit on my shoulder while I do chores...soon their run will be done and they will have lots of tree branches and logs with lots of bugs to eat.

I also give them cut grass clippings and bugs. They will run for all they are worth, to keep the bug, and a great game of "keep away" will ensues...great fun to watch!!!

Are they still in a brooder?

When mine were in their brooder I gave them some grass/soil that they picked at. I also gave them a roost. When they were 5wks or less I gave them some cheap Walmart bird toys from the pet department ($1 a toy) but after so long their beaks get so powerful that those toys could be dangerous, they could break a piece and then swallow it.

Now that my girls are in their coop/run I have provided them with roosts at different heights. And I filled my daughters old turtle sandbox with sand and my pullets love it. I also give them extra food from the kitchen. As long as they have access to grit you can give treats and make them love you lol Mine enjoy eggs, corn, cheese, watermelon, broccoli, grapes, dried cranberries, and raisins. They do not like bananas, mangoes, cantaloupe, green peppers, lettuce, corn husk, and bugs. Sometimes I feel like I have defective chickens lol chickens are suppose to love bugs!

When mine were a week old I started taking them on field trips to the back yard. at first they were a little scared and couldn't get close enough to me. They all piled on top of each other in my lap and I'm sure if they could've they would've climbed in my pockets they quickly got over it though and loved our trips outside to play in the grass and dirt
