How do I post a picture

How do I post a really cool picture?I tried for a long time in several different ways I must be doing something wrong.

You're trying to use HTML. You need to use BBCode instead.

There is a button that says Img above where you type your message when you go to write a new post. Click on that, and you will get "tags" in your post that say [*img*][*/img*] (without the *; I had to include asterisks or the tags would be invisible to you when I posted this).

Copy and paste the URL of the picture you want to post in between the IMG tags, like this:

[*img*]https://www.backyardchickens.com/thisismyphoto.jpg[*/img*]

Your photo's URL should end in .jpg or .gif.

I will show you what I mean by editing your post so that you can see what you SHOULD do compared to what you did.

If you click "edit" on that post, you can check it out.

It works on this post but not on the posts in other topic areas. I would like to post in the photos area and I have a chick with scissor beak.

I think I did everything you said do but when I posted on the photo topics I still just get the code. I wish I could up load directly from my comp like I do for facebook or myspace.

I tried the preview and I got what you see above. As you can see I need some help not only with the posts but advise in topics that need pic.

Your pics are showing up as pictures for me, so I'm not understanding your question.

The code looks right, except that you don't need four IMG tags in a row to post a pic, just two. Then put the URL of the pic in the middle of the two tags.

Did you know that you can upload pictures to image storage space right here on BYC? It's a lot like Facebook's "Simple Uploader." Click on "Uploads" in the blue bar across the top of the BYC forum.

You have an uploader? That will be so much easier I think.

Last night I did continue to work on the posts until the pictures appeared.
