No way at all. You just get luck.

But hey, at least you or someone here on BYC can figure out who's rooster and who isn't way before they do rooster-behaviors.

Infact, do sex-linked pairs and you'll know boys from girls at hatch.

see i wish that I could!! I have a easter egger roo and want to raise ee hens!! sell the eggs ya know!! whne people on here buy hatching eggs do theyknow what they are getting??? I mean i watched how to sex chickens on dirtiest jobs but i hate squeezing the little boogers!! also any advice for selling them as chicks i mean!! i love to hatch!!! I also just hatched a hen in october and she was a cross between my roo and a red star i think she is laying a more olive colored egg than a light green like my ee!! just love to hatch so much!! need way to sell!!

any advice on how to seel my full blooded ee eggs??? i am gonna hatch some more full blooded ee's soon!! just wish i had some where that i could sell them at. I tried on here but no one would buy them

With the EE's I've noticed the roos are more upright, they have the 3 rows on their comb, and the color will come in patchy on their wings. Once you raise some EE chicks you will get the idea. But please do post some pics, we'd love to help you guess.

I would start small, post an add on craigslist. Advertise them as green hatching eggs from green egg layers, they will get picked up quick.

When people buy hatching eggs they get "straight run" chicks from them. As for yourself, if you want to hatch chicks and sell them, but sell only females. . . There's a few ways to easily do it.

Your Easter Egger rooster - What color is he? Does he have any light yellow or pale yellowish white on him? Does he have white on him? If he does not, he's eligible for sex-linked offspring. Even if he is, if you have a barred rock hen - There ya go. The easiest sex-linking around.

A Barred rock hen x Easter Egger rooster will give you Easter Egger chicks with green to olive green colored eggs, the males will hatch out with a white dot on their heads, females will not. That way you can hatch a lot, and sell the females in an instant. But indeed there still is the male issue. . . Those, you can either sell or eat. I know a lot of people don't like the thought of eating their own chicken, but it's far more humane, cost effective, and tastier than the storebought stuff.

EEs are a mixed breed to begin with, I don't see any way to call them "full blooded". They may not sell well ever, EEs are readily available through hatcheries and feed stores, especially in the spring. They often call them "Americanas" and "Americaunas".

Any time you hatch eggs you are running a 50/50 crap shoot in terms of gender. If there was a way to hatch a higher percentage of pullets I can guarantee you the hatcheries would be using it!

And so would I!
