This is the first time I've read this thread and I'm shaking mad!!!
I've been through this when the neighbour who hated Slifer's son, stood by my fence with a big stick and was telling the other JD that was with him that he was going to beat her head in...My DS heard him, told me and I called the cops. They came so they had it on record, then they went to the kid's house and put the fear of god into him and his tippling mother...no problems since.

If the 20 year old is giving bad vibes, hanging out with little kids AND is threatening an innocent animal, to me that's the Three Strikes rule. I'd report the 211(Breaking and Entering) the theft of the bird and the threat of harm to the bird. If the cops don't do it, the Humane Society will. I can't believe that the parents of the kids weren't more upset! I would be hopping mad!

Make sure you get more than one lock that's heavy duty, like a Schlage lock. They're pretty tough. A simple thing is a fake camera. Or put bells or something that makes noise around the fence like...I wish Panner was here to tell you how to dig a really cool Ponjee pit...
