How do I revive my hen from heat exhaustion and dehydration

I hope she makes it.

JUST TRYING TO LEARN HERE....
but when a bird is overheated, is it really a good idea to be putting ice packs around or on them?
Don't you think the extreme cold is too much of a shock to the hot body or not?

In an emergency situation you want to get the temperature close to normal quickly, but you are right that it's not a good idea to leave ice packs actually touching the bird . Otherwise, you can have the packs close enough to cool the air around the bird for a good while.

I learned the hard way that its not a good idea to put ice directly on the body. My hen experienced a brief spasm and off went the ice.

UPDATE:

My hen is moving around slowly now and resting a lot. She's obviously not up to full strength. Does anyone know how long it should take for her to get back to normal?
