I need to find a man who was once listed in the U.S. Army

here's the story...... get a snack.... I'll wait..........

K ready?......

I have a young girl living with me who was born in Texas. (lives in Canada now) Her mom and dad divorced when she was 3 and mom returned to Canada with the children and dad was never seen since.

Now the young lady is looking for her bio-dad, all she knows is his name and the fact that he was in the U.S. Army and his date of birth, the last place he was stationed.

How would she go about finding him?

Start with:

Google, myspace, facebook. Ancestory.com, I had a cousin find us that way.

WOW really?

Maybe call the Army? Find a phone # somewhere..or i'll try to find you a # if you cant... they'll have all his latest info.(or from when he was last in the army anyways)...Is his name on her birth certificate? That will help with people giving you info on the guy..

PM Cetawin..*hehee..i hope she wont get mad at me*

this young lady is not my DD, she is however living with me (long story mommy is a bit wacked)

There are three ways that I know of.

1) The Navy has a site where one can go to locate someone. I'm sure the Army has the same. Try calling some Army types and they should be able to point you in the right direction. (i.e. Army recruiters, or the equivalent of the Bureau of Naval Personnel, etc.)

2) Military.com has a Locator that may be helpful.

3) There is an organization called "Together We Served". I know the Navy has one and I've seen ads for the Air Force one. My guess is there is one for the Army too.

Hope that helps.

God Bless,

The girl has to call the V/A office (you can't) She is looking for her father, He is retired. He gets a retirement check and free medical from the govt. every month. THey know where he is.

you really dont have to worry about military records at the begining.

With a name and a DOB just go to a people search site from google. There are actually tons of free sites if you just want a phone number...

Once you pay $50 you gett sutff like his entire credit history, DL#, marriage records, the phone numbers of all his neighbors, the phone numbers of spouse and all ex spouses.

If for some reason he is hard to find then you can goto the military, but I would just start with a free people search. Name and DOB are key pieces of Info.

I've helped friends find people, its generally pretty easy if they are just seperated and not hiding for any real reason.

My grandfathers best friend was reunited with a college GF after 50 years. He just did a google search from Venezuela paid $50 and was looking at a 10 page packet with her entire life history 5 min later.
