How do I sex buff orpington chicks?

Notice the top chick - really pointy tail and wings that almost reach the hind end.

The chick in the middle has a more rounded tail and wings that only go about 1/2 way down the body.

These chicks were hatched on 7/29, they are buff orpingtons.

Does this at all indicate sex of the chick? I have 2 with the rounded tail and just the one with the pointy tail.

Thanks!

I have always noticed that the females feather out quicker, they usually have wing feathers right away, later the boys combs become pink, the girls remain orange.

Most of us want all hens, but seem to get more roosters. I have 4 boys to 3 girls, this year with one little one still unfeathered after almost 4 weeks, has to be a boy.

Just saw that video. Kind of wild how it is done. I just got some chicks from a local farm and got commerical ones as well. The local animals and for some reason my black sex links started off more social than my reds. Maybe less trauma starting out? Or just breed? True roosters and other animals are killed to eat but it is far less stressful on an animal at a local farm to live out their life until slaughter than commerically grown animals. Course we are not farming communities anymore and we buy packaged food at grocery stores...we will see how I actually do with my roosters!
