How do I stop my hens from laying in the winter?

That’s weird that your chickens lay year round. My chickens usually start slowing down in August, molt in September thru October and November,by November no eggs until January.

Pretty much same here. Last year I had virtually no eggs from August till February. Bunch of free-loading bums! Good thing they are so cute and sweet, and earn their keep eating ticks!

Yeah, I just started saving their eggs in September instead of giving them away and that way I had enough eggs to last through to January. I don’t really eat that many eggs anyhow. I just think my chickens are so darn cute too!
