I just hatched out my first ever chicks yesterday! I just got my r-com mini on Christmas and put eggs in the bator that same day. It only holds three...thank goodness, and yes, I WANTED it that small to KEEP me for hatching out 20 or 30 at a time!
Only two eggs were fertile, and they were both brown (the white egg was the non-fertile one), so they are either from my SLW's or GLW's. Both chicks are so cute and gentle, and SO different than the temperment of the mail order chicks I got last year...less trauma I guess.
Anyway...even though the newbies are less than 24 hours old, I have already cleaned out the bater and am ready to put more eggs in! I want to hatch out two of my Ameracauna eggs and one white egg (I have several white egg-laying breeds, so it's a gamble who the Mom would be).
Am I crazy!? How do I stop?! Is there a hatch-a-holics anonymous group I can join!?

I too need to stop hatching but can't. I promised myself after my last hatch there would be no more at least until spring. My homemade refrigerator incubator had not even cooled down before I had three more turners full of eggs in there. Hellllllllllppppppppppppppp!!!
