How do I tell Roo or Hen

My RIR are a week old today. After reading this thread I'm a little concerned. I have 5 chicks. only 3 have a black stripe in their head and the wings are different. See pics. Hope I have more hens then roos...

You can't at this age. wait until they are 4 to six weeks old and compare comb and wattles.

If you bought them as pullets, they are likely pullets.

RRs are not sexlinked so you cannot go by color or feathering. Hatcheries vent sex them
 
I did buy them as pullets from a farm store in town. Guess I was worried about the threads I was reading. They were all saying if they have the brown stripe then they are hens. Thanks for your response!

Nope! There is a color difference in auto sexing breeds--Cream legbars and etc. RIRs are not sexlinks or auto sexing. They are not even semi auto sexing. What people are doing is called guessing with the same success as a coin toss for heads or tails. Each time you toss, you have a 50% chance of getting heads. In order to be significant, you have to get over 90% correct on a regular basis. For RIRs, vent sexing is the only way to do this.
