I used strips of stretch wrap and strips of black tape to hold the bandage on.I got better at making her bandages as time went on but in the beginning it was frustrating.

Thank you for your answer did your hen have a mild case or severe case, I’m afraid mine is okay severe, I’m gonna contact the vet tomorrow I think as I’m not ready to do any type of surgery on her. I’m first gonna try your method thank you for the helpFirst the redness disappears then the swelling will go down. The kernel will shrink and dry up if you soak it daily or every other day. After it dried up and the scab(kernel)was ready to come off I clipped it with scissors and pulled it out.It bled a little. I soaked her foot 15 minutes after getting the kernel out then put iodine on it.Patted it dry. Applied antibiotic cream then bandaged it.Covered it with waterproof tape.Repeat every other day until new skin covers the hole.Vital to keep soaking it during the healing process.
It sounds like you’re going a great job. I think she will be fine with the flock. Keep up updated!UPDATE
I gave her another epson salt bath this morning, she is not limping anymore and the swelling has gone down a bit. The kernel is still not out but I’m alone for the next couple of days so until then epson salt bath and ointment will have to do.
I put some gauze on her feet and put her with her flock, I know it’s not ideal but she can not be alone.
The last time she was sick and isolated from the flock she was on the verge of death and we decided to put her flock close to her so they could say goodbye, but the second she was reunited with her flock she was fine.
She will sleep inside so she won’t have to jump around, and she will get epson baths every day![]()
