How do I treat chicken lice?

Same here, I just could never have enough guts to eat them, even when they get old. It's even hard to sell them.. :lau
Oh I'm going to have a bunch of old maids one day. The way i see it if a girl has been loyally providing me with eggs her whole life why would i cull her just because she slows? I had to get rid of one of my roosters, because i ended up with two, and i must've cried for a week afterwards. I even made his new owner send me pictures of his new home. I just love them, i nicknamed my flock the puppies because a few of them are really that sweet.

Well, for me, DE for lice worked really well. I highly recommend it for getting rid of DE!!! Chickens don't like dust and sprays, it isn't natural. I use DE for everything on my farm - dogs, cats, chickens, other birds.

OP practically stated, it’s doing nothing for her chickens and they still have lice... exactly how my story went, my chickens kept suffering from the little critters while using DE, until I did actual research on products to use...

I mix sevin dust into their bedding. I use the spray in the picture below and I love the results! Mite/Lice free chickens in a day!

Using DE (Diatomaceous Earth) to control pests on chickens reminds me of the old 70s joke about Elephants wearing green tennis shoes so that they can hide in a watermelon patch.

Have any of you ever saw an elephant wearing green tennis shoes hiding in a field of watermelons? NO, see then green tennis shoes makes elephants invisible to the naked eye as long as the pachyderm sporting the green Nikes hunkers down in a watermelon patch. The same is true about DE controlling both external and internal parasites on hens and roosters.

Vaseline BTW is a natural occuring 100% organic substance. Don't think for one minute that Vaseline is not BOTH natural AND organic.
