How do I treat scaly leg mites? HELP!

Most of my chickens have it and I have heard that you can use Vaseline but I don't know if it works. It is causing some chickens pain. Thank you.

Welcome to BackYard Chickens! I'm glad you joined us! Vaseline helps. You can also find an anti-scaly leg mite spray at a local farm store. If you have any more questions, I would recommend starting a new thread in the "Emergencies/Diseases/Injuries and Cures" section.

Vaseline works well, put a thick coat on they're legs and rub it up under their scales. I have also heard of success with soaking they're legs in vegetable oil.
