How do permanently delete messages from your trash

Is there a way to permanently delete the messages in your trash can from your private messages On this site ?
If so How do you do it
I have messages from over a year ago ,

Last I heard, this was something on the to do list. I don't see anything new in there.

Unfortunately we haven't been able to add this feature yet. Currently your deleted items auto-delete after there are (I believe) 20 messages in your trash.
