How do these guys look?

We've never had CornishX before. These guys are 6 weeks and have an appt to be processed at 8. Does it look like they are going to be ready or should I reschedule??

To me they look to be right where their should be.

BTW, nice looking dogs. I have a 14 week old male and a 2 year old female. Male is happier with the goats and the female likes her chickens.

They look about right to me, but I only did this once and processed at 6 weeks. I guess they really put on the weight the last few weeks, but go through the feed, too.

Your dogs are neat -- mine wants to eat anything with feathers, so I could never have that pose at my house.

These guys are only a year old. They used to pin and pluck my chickens, until I forced one on his back and made chickens walk on him and beat the other with a dead chicken. Now they are awesome guardians! They treed a coon in the orchard the other night and so far, the three big owls living in the barn haven't had a chicken dinner yet! So then the 8 week schedule should be ok. Thanks! I had no idea what these birds should look like before processing!

They never actually "killed" a chicken...they just plucked them and I think they died of embarrassment! They thought they were neat 'squeaky toys'

I have a Doberman and a papillon. The little papillon occasionally decides to chase the Banties. I'm going to get a mini electric collar for her because that needs to stop, although I doubt she'd hurt them. All the other chickens are close enough to her size, the cornish crosses are bigger than her, so no worries there.
The Doberman thinks they are her babies. She's very protective and even fought off a pitbull that broke down our gate one morning. Don't mess with her chickens!

I didn't process my meaties until they were about 10 weeks old. Mine ended up about 3 lbs each after processed. When I got them, I thought they would be around 4-5 lbs. They ate 24/7, but it was also really hot, so not sure if they affected their growth.

The boys get bigger faster than the girls.
