How do u check your thermostat

I have a Cabinet incubator. It was holding temp and today it has dropped down a couple degress. The house temp is the same. How do you check your thermostat. It is a electronic. And a back up waffer. But the inside is not getting to temp. The electronic is turned all the way up.

Could it be your heating element? Is the electronic thermostat running?

i check my digital thermostats on my fish tank... the controller keeps it at 76° constant... or get a warm glass of water, and put both that thermometer and a medical thermometer... i'd trust the medical one more...
