How do u know if ur Black silkie is a Lav Split?

Wanting to know how u know if your Black Silkie is a Lav. Split?

edit: oh, and you have to breed it to either another lav silkie, or split for lav silkie...

Breed it to a pure lavende silkie and see if any resulting offspring hatch lavender, If they do, you know the black is split for the gene.

In theory if both blacks are split to lav 1 in 4 chicks would be lav
if neither or only one black is a split, none of the chicks will be lav
